Introducing my new blog

This is my new blog: I plan to use this space to post the stuff I’ve learned from the many mistakes I’ve made along my many projects. Because you can’t learn things without making some mistakes.

I like to do things myself. So I research, measure, measure again, draw up some plans and a materials list, get said list, then GO. Inevitably, regardless of planning, remeasure, return to the hardware store for more supplies, try again, and repeat. In the end I’ve learned how to do things, how things go together and for that matter how they come apart. How to make less trips to the store. And what is really doable in a couple hours, as well as the signs that say this is a weekend project and for that matter a weekend and take a couple days off project.

I also love technology and innovation, so I try as much as I can. This doesn’t just mean computer, software, and other technical stuff. This means anything that can make your life easier. In fact recently I found the coolest, simplist, most energy saving thing in recent home ownership (see next post). Simple, cheap, effective… I couldn’t even make it myself for cheaper ( I seriously thought about it.). So read on; subscribe to the RSS feed. – Cheers. Marshall
