Twin Draft Guard (as seen on TV)

Twin Draft Guard is the best thing for blocking drafts on frequently used doors during the winter. (twin draft guard link pardon the annoying video/audio link above. It’s their official site 🙁 )

When I saw this on TV, I wished I had take more time a year ago or so to formulate my concept for the best no hassle draft dodging device in the world. Perhaps I was too comfortable and lazy in my slanket (now rebranded/remarketed as Snuggie < link has more autoplay commercial non-sense).

Introducing my new blog

This is my new blog: I plan to use this space to post the stuff I’ve learned from the many mistakes I’ve made along my many projects. Because you can’t learn things without making some mistakes.

I like to do things myself. So I research, measure, measure again, draw up some plans and a materials list, get said list, then GO. Inevitably, regardless of planning, remeasure, return to the hardware store for more supplies, try again, and repeat. In the end I’ve learned how to do things, how things go together and for that matter how they come apart. How to make less trips to the store. And what is really doable in a couple hours, as well as the signs that say this is a weekend project and for that matter a weekend and take a couple days off project.

Ninjakin

In October 2007, I was trying to come up with some cool ideas for pumpkins. I don’t consider myself a good illustrator, but I enjoy drawing. I wanted to make a ninja pumpkin, so I iterated through some sketches, and refined a simplified but expressive character. The carving process, enhanced it further and I ended up with the best pumpkin I’ve ever carved. I’m quite proud of this character.
